IBT, in conjunction with Digital Check has introduced the newest addition scanner, the TS240, to its latest branch delivery channel product suite. The TS240, the 5th generation of Digital Check’s TellerScan® line of check scanners, was officially introduced last year. This scanner handles batches of up to 100 checks at speeds of 50, 75 or 100 documents per minute. The TS240 is a replacement to Digital Check’s TS230, with enhanced 300 dpi scan heads (a 50% increase over the TS230) so the teller gets higher resolution images from the scanner. The TS240 also adds an available franking function which allows a mark to be added to the front indicating that the item has been processed.
In addition, to compliment the TS240, Digital Check recently introduced a thermal transaction receipt printer module (TTP) that sits underneath the scanner. This unit consolidates two separate units into a footprint about the size of the scanner to save valuable teller counter space. The TS240/TTP has functionality to print customer check images and marketing messages on the receipt much like those from image-enabled ATMs. Thermal printing has proven to be more functional and cost effective than a traditional inkjet printers, as there is no need for cartridges or ribbon replacements, or for expensive cut sheet paper.
“IBT is always looking for opportunities to offer innovative products that enhance the customer experience, improve the overall process and make the cost of ownership affordable. This partnership and the TS240 product allow us to continue to offer them just that.” Stated Mike Golebiowski, president, IBT. Tom Anderson, president of Digital Check added, “We are excited about our relationship with IBT. Their breadth of products and market niche are a great fit for our TellerScan and CheXpress product lines. We look forward to great success as we work together.”
