The CheXpress scanner offers a smaller footprint in comparison to other check scanners with features including dual scanning of images, dual check endorsement and dual MICR read technology that maximize image quality and accurately captures data. The energy efficient check scanner supports green initiatives with low power consumption and remote shutdown capabilities. The low noise device is an additional benefit for small office and home office environments.
An estimated 14.5 million small businesses are candidates for remote deposit capture, according to a recent survey conducted by Celent on small business remote deposit capture. Celent estimates a current adoption rate of less than one percent within this market segment. CheXpress expands Digital Check’s product line with a device specifically designed for these small business customers. Offered at a lower price point, the scanner enables financial institutions to further promote distributed check capture applications within small businesses by providing a low maintenance, consumer-friendly product.
The CheXpress product encompasses numerous breakthroughs in design, engineering and manufacturing. Our goal for this scanner was to drive continued improvements in image quality while delivering a device that would be easier to operate for the small business customer,” stated John Gainer, Digital Check executive vice president. “The small business market sector represents the next big opportunity for remote deposit capture. We believe CheXpress will give our financial institution clients the ability to aggressively expand their penetration within the small business market.”
CheXpress units are currently being certified by Digital Check software partners. Shipments to customers will begin in July 2008.
