The CheXpress CX30 was the first check scanner designed specifically for remote deposit capture, as a lower-cost alternative to the high-speed, multi-feed models employed at the teller window. More than 10 years later, it’s our best-selling scanner model of all time, and has been updated repeatedly to keep up with the times.
The CX30 includes all the essential capabilities for check image capture, including bank-quality MICR and OCR, straight-through or feed-and-return duplex scanning, and optional inkjet endorsement. It is also available with UV check capture capability for international markets. If you need an affordable and durable scanner for remote deposit capture, look no further than the CX30.
The CX30 can be converted into a network-ready scanner with the help of the SecureLink appliance, a hockey puck-sized device with onboard intelligence and Ethernet compatibility.
The CheXpress CX30 was the first check scanner designed specifically for remote deposit capture, combining accuracy and reliability with an affordable price. As one of the lowest cost MICR-enabled scanners on the market, it brings bank quality and durability within reach of small and medium-sized businesses.
Simply put, the durability and price of the CheXpress CX30 check scanner is hard to beat! The CX30 is built tough enough to be at the teller window but priced for a small business. This is why many banks bundle the scanner with their remote deposit (RDC) service costs, and why more than half a million small businesses worldwide have made it their check scanner of choice.
While other check scanner manufacturers save on cost by using plastic base plates and cheaper components, Digital Check hasn’t compromised in building the CheXpress CX30. Every CX30 is made from the same high-quality parts as our other bank-quality scanners, including a metal base plate, and is assembled and computer-control tested against 141 data points before leaving our U.S.A based manufacturing facility.
The CX30 and its supporting software tools are the result of years of experience in producing the highest quality check images from non-conforming images (NCIs), such as money orders, checks with light printing, and other difficult items. That’s especially important in remote deposit capture, where the bank doesn’t have the paper document present!
Our Best Read® API intelligence selects the highest quality check image from several captured simultaneously, using image-enhancement tools like Special Document Handling and Clear by Digital Check® to clean up problem documents.
The SecureLink appliance is a hockey puck-sized network adapter with built-in intelligence to run your scanner. It can turn any CheXpress CX30 into a network-ready check scanner, whether it’s a new device or one already installed in the field. The flexibility makes the CX30 easy to convert for virtual network environments.
Since the API and key functions run on the SecureLink device itself, it also frees the scanner from operating-system constraints. The CX30 can be controlled by devices using Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, Linux, virtual environments including Citrix and VMWare, or just about anything else that can address a web browser.
We designed the CX30 with the simplest possible feed path: Forward and back in a straight line, rather than around a curved “horseshoe” track. This simplified yet sturdy construction minimizes the number of jams, uses fewer moving parts, and requires almost no maintenance. It even gives the CX30 a slightly lower width than our Micro Elite RDC scanner, which is currently the ultimate in compact form factors among remote deposit scanners.
The CX30 operates in feed-and-return mode by default, but a rear hinge can be opened if you prefer to feed items straight through and have them exit through the back. This can be useful in obstructed locations where desktop space is tight, or for other modified uses such as kiosks and self-service stations.
This low-cost powerhouse is made with the same high-quality components we use in our scanners for the teller window, giving you the same durability Digital Check is known for worldwide. While some remote deposit scanners use cheap construction with all plastic parts to reduce costs, the CX30 is built with a metal baseplate and long-lasting components like all our other devices. It has the same high-quality image sensors and MICR read head that we use in our teller models, giving RDC users the accuracy and reliability that banks count on us to deliver!
