San Francisco, August 11, 2009 – BankServ, worldwide experts in electronic payments, today announced that it has partnered with Digital Check, a leading provider of desktop check scanners for the remote deposit capture and financial industry, to drive the penetration of desktop check scanners into the small business marketplace. As part of this partnership, BankServ has certified Digital Check’s CheXpress CX30 scanner for use with its DepositNow® application. Together, DepositNow and the CheXpress CX30 scanner give small businesses a powerful, affordable, bank-anywhere receivables management solution.

BankServ’s DepositNow allows a user to quickly and securely deposit paper checks into their existing checking account with a computer and check scanner. DepositNow deposits the payment to any checking account in the United States (as designated by the business owner) and automatically updates accounts receivable for businesses using QuickBooks® or Peachtree®.

Digital Check’s CheXpress CX30 scanner fits virtually all small office and home office needs due to its low cost, quick and quiet operation, small footprint and extensive features including dual image capture, dual MICR read technology, and both audit trail endorsement and franking capabilities. The scanner combines bank quality image and MICR capture capabilities at a lower price point to meet the needs of smaller business customers. The energy efficient check scanner also supports green initiatives with low power consumption and remote shutdown capabilities.

“For many small businesses, the capability to deposit check payments directly from their office to their bank account would save tremendous time and money,” said David Keenan, VP Sales and Marketing at BankServ. “However, the upfront cost of purchasing a designated check scanner can be a big hurdle for some businesses that are not familiar with the technology. We are excited to partner with Digital Check to remove this hurdle and get businesses across the United States up and running on this powerful technology.”

“In addition to the time and cost benefits to small businesses, they are increasingly adopting remote deposit for increased risk management control and of course, improved cash flow management – issues that appeal to businesses of any size,” said John Gainer, Digital Check Executive Vice President. “BankServ offering a CheXpress CX30 scanner in conjunction with their bank-anywhere DepositNow solution is a very interesting concept, and should help open the door to many small businesses to begin using remote deposit because of the affordability and reliability of BankServ’s bundled solution.”
