Explanation of the Scanner Service Offerings
– Contract Renewals for Units with Expiring Depot Warranty or Expiring AUR Contracts
– Service Options for Current Models Not Under Coverage

Service Contracts for Renewing Existing Agreements

Extended Factory Warranty

• Available during the standard or extended warranty period
• Available in a 1, 2, 3 or 4-year renewal, for a maximum of 6 years in total
• Factory warranty (depot repair) covers defects attributed to scanner hardware
• Customer pays inbound shipping and the repair depot pays for ground return shipping
• Repairs take approximately 3 to 5 business days to complete once scanner is received at the repair depot
• Additional fees or No Trouble Found (NTF) invoice charges can occur if the returned scanner has customer induced damage

Advanced Unit Replacement (AUR)

• Available in a 1, 2, 3 or 4-year renewal, for a maximum of 6 years in total
• Annual contract agreement for all installed scanners based on serial number
• The repair depot pays for shipping refurbished replacement scanner for next day delivery in the 48 contiguous states
• Includes a prepaid return label for the original customer scanner
• Additional fees or No Trouble Found (NTF) invoice charges can occur if the returned scanner has customer induced damage

Service Options for Scanners Off Coverage (After the depot warranty or AUR contracts have expired)

Flat Rate Repair – (Per incident repair fee)

• Available for models currently supported by Digital Check
• Repair process includes observations and tests to replicate customer described problems and/or failure symptoms
• Can be initiated for a failed scanner currently not covered by any warranty or AUR contract
• Customer pays inbound shipping and the repair depot pays for ground return shipping
• Repair process takes 3 to 5 business days to complete once scanner is received at the repair depot

 

Factory Exchange – (Per incident replacement fee)

• Available for models currently supported by Digital Check
• Replacement scanner is of similar model and speed as the model the customer currently owns
• Can be initiated when a scanner fails, and the scanner is not covered under contract
• The repair depot pays for shipping refurbished replacement scanner for next day delivery in the 48 contiguous states
• Includes a prepaid return label for the original customer scanner
• Additional fees or No Trouble Found (NTF) invoice charges can occur if the returned scanner has customer induced damage
