SmartSource Elite series scanners – LED blink codes

The following tables will help you identify the basic LED status codes given by your SmartSource Elite series scanner. This is not a guide to the numbered “Error Codes” that may be generated by your software application in the event of a problem. If you encounter a numbered error code, please refer to the user manual or software documentation first.

Please note that there are multiple variations of the SmartSource Elite in deployment, with different LED codes as noted in the three tables below:

  1. “Enhanced” model with three-color LED (beginning in 2020)
  2. Original model with single-color LED, with updated firmware
  3. Original model with single-color LED, original firmware

Note: Intervals for the various blink patterns are as follows: “Very Fast Blink” – 10x/sec.; “Blink” – 5x/sec.; “Slow Blink” – slightly faster than 1 second; “Very Slow Blink” – slightly longer than 1 second.
