Network Scanning Device for Digital Check® Scanners Now Available

SecureLink by Digital Check® Works with New, Existing Check Scanners

SecureLink by Digital CheckNorthbrook, IL, January 18, 2017 – Digital Check’s SecureLink device for network-enabled check scanning is available for purchase, effective today, by authorized reseller partners. The new low profile device allows networking and PC-free control of most Digital Check scanners, and will work with scanners already deployed in the field.

The PC-free operation allows the scanner to be controlled via a web browser by a wide array of client devices – including Apple and Android tablets and smartphones, as well as ordinary desktop and laptop PCs – all without the need for scanner driver software installations. “That versatility will prove invaluable to the branch-transformation movement taking place in the industry,” says Rick Ooten, Digital Check’s VP of product management.

“The freedom to operate your equipment, untethered from any PC, operating system, or software package, provides the agility needed for the connected bank branch of the future,” says Ooten. “Whether you’re on Apple or Android, using PCs or tablets or something totally different, you’ll be able to make use of Digital Check products in just about any way you can imagine.”

SecureLink is certified for use with TellerScan® TS240, TS500, and CheXpress® CX30 devices. Since it works with both new scanners and existing equipment already deployed in the field, financial institutions will not need to replace their entire scanner inventories to employ network capabilities.

The new networking functionality is compatible with nearly all of the most common operating systems – including Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, and many Linux distributions. A streamlined network interface is designed to easily integrate with different devices and applications to quickly enable scanner control across the network. It is ideal for virtual teller software environments using centralized operating systems, such as Citrix or VMWare.

The initial SecureLink model, an external attachment that connects to a scanner via USB, is available now. Additional versions are planned for future release. For more information, contact your Digital Check representative or sales@digitalcheck.com.
