The SmartSource Expert Elite UV is Digital Check’s first-ever ultraviolet scanner with built-in networking technology. It can be configured as either a network device or a standard USB-connected scanner thanks to its new SimpleSwitch technology.
This multi-feed check scanner delivers high speeds and high capacity for high-volume teller capture environments.

The Expert Elite UV with SimpleSwitch can change between USB (SmartPVA or DCC API) and network operation (SecureLink 2.0 API) with a simple set of instructions to change the mode.
SimpleSwitch allows your scanner to operate over a standard USB connection, while also offering future-proof network capability.
At up to 150 documents per minute, the Expert Elite UV is many times faster than a manual inspection — and it isn’t prone to human error. It can also export images to software that can recognize subtle differences that might not be obvious to the unaided eye.
Certain security features can ONLY be read correctly by a machine, including:
→ Invisible tracking algorithms
→ UV barcodes
→ Exact color and wavelength
Your scanner can export captured data in many formats, including separate bitonal (1-bit black-and-white) images for visible and UV printing, or composite grayscale images showing both together.
Having more options allows you to identify issues more effectively and ensure compliance with regulations in any region where UV validation is utilized.
The Expert Elite UV uses a modified image sensor (inset at left) that has both an ultraviolet and an RGB light array. It can capture both visible and UV light spectra at once, giving you the highest scan speed and smoothest operation.
The Expert Elite UV comes with an automated cleaning mode to help you with the maintenance of your device. Cleaning mode is activated by pressing the “SMART” LED button three times, initiating the cleaning mode, so that the cleaning card scrubs against key components. This reduces the possibility for operator error, and ensures the device is thoroughly cleaned. The LED indicator also reminds you when it is time for maintenance.

The Expert Elite UV includes a separate path for scanning ID cards, conveniently located in the exit pocket in the front of the scanner. Its image sensors capture in up to 600 dpi full color for reading the finest security features and machine-readable barcodes.
Whether you’re using ID scanning for security and fraud prevention, or to speed up data entry, Digital Check’s Elite series scanners offer a convenient solution that can export quality images for use by your teller or security platform.
The ReceiptNOW Elite teller receipt printer is designed to work with all Elite series scanners, including the Expert Elite UV. The modular thermal printer sits underneath the scanner and saves valuable counter space at your teller stations. It is also available in a network-ready model, with dual Ethernet ports for “chaining” it on the same wired connection as the scanner.
