Soon after our CheXpress was introduced, the CX30 product and Digital Check were recognized by Bank Technology News winning the prestigious Innovators Award as well as Digital Check being recognized as a Top Ten Technology Company to Watch. The CheXpress promise of a bank quality scanner at a small business price has been proven by its market success. Today, even with the economy is sputtering back to life, CheXpress sales continue to grow in Q1’10 in both the small business & Treasury RDC market segments reinforcing usage of Digital Check scanners in 8 out of the top 10 banks in the U.S.
In paraphrasing customer feedback about the CheXpress quality and cost we hear them telling us that “saving a few dollars on the purchase price of a low volume, ‘throw-away’ scanner, has not been worth the operational costs and customer service risks associated with those scanners.” It is a reminder that “you get what you pay for.”
CX30 was the first in its class to offer a scan and return feature that would allow images and MICR to be captured on the way in and also on the way out of the scanner. This feature not only improves on our already industry leading MICR read rates, but also allows us to handle difficult documents like money orders, foreign checks and checks written with gel pens without creating an exception item. As we said then and as we have proven since, the CX30 provides the lowest overall total cost of ownership in the industry.
The CX30 does not compromise features for price. We have kept the cost low, but also kept critical features such as rear inkjet audit trail endorsement functionality, a feature that was highlighted in last year’s FFIEC guidelines for risk management of remote deposit capture. We also responded to market demands by adding an optional franking capability to the device in 2009.
