Executive Staff
Thomas P. Anderson, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Thomas P. Anderson is the President and CEO of Northbrook, IL based Digital Check Corp., one of the world’s leading technology providers of check scanners for bank teller windows, branch back counters, and for remote deposit capture (RDC), a service which allows bank customers to scan checks for electronic deposit.
Founded in 1959 by his father, Thomas P. Anderson Sr., the company, with roots in imaging technologies, has evolved and reinvented from micrographic systems in the early days, to sophistication camera and scanning systems, to today focusing on unique check scanning solutions for the global financial markets.
With corporate global headquarters in Northbrook, IL, and manufacturing in metro Los Angeles, Digital Check Corp. has experienced dramatic growth under Anderson’s leadership as President. Today the company is recognized not only for the breadth of its management team and its manufacturing expertise, but also recognized for its core values of exceptional customer service, long term channel partnerships, and its family heritage with his son, Thomas F. Anderson now a part of the business.
Anderson became President of Digital Check Corp. in 1987, previously known as Microseal Corporation, and in 1994 directed the sale of a portion of the business, including the Microseal name, to the Bell & Howell Company, a Skokie, IL based information and imaging company.
After the sale of Microseal to Bell & Howell, Anderson then renamed the company, Digital Check Corp., with a new focus on the emerging check imaging and check truncation markets both around the world. The company has built a network of global partners including BankServ, FIS, Jack Henry, Kodak, NCR, Wausau Financial Systems, and many other software application developers that provide imaging solutions to large banks, community banks, and credit unions around the world.
After the events of September 11, 2001, the U.S. Congress passed the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, allowing electronic check images to replace the paper check for clearing payments. The “Check 21” law dramatically enhanced the usage of check imaging, not only in the retail banking environment, but extending the benefits of check imaging to millions of businesses worldwide through ‘remote deposit’ services.
Prior to working for Microseal/Digital Check Corp., and following his graduation from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1971, Anderson served 3 years as a Lieutenant and Damage Control Officer in the United States Navy.
