LAS VEGAS, Oct. 20, 2010 – Associated Bank, a part of Associated Banc-Corp (Nasdaq: ASBC), a diversified bank holding company with total assets of $23 billion, is deploying the financial industry’s first compact, combination teller module in partnership with technology vendors Digital Check, a provider of distributed-capture check scanners for branch automation and remote deposit capture applications, and Benchmark Technology Group, a leading provider of branch automation solutions and technology management services.

According to Associated Bank officials, the bank wanted to improve the physical environment and function of its teller stations by creating more open workspace and an effective way to serve and cross-sell to account holders.  Associated Bank selected Digital Check’s Teller Scan® TS240/TTP and is working with Benchmark Technology Group, a more than 15-year provider of technology to the bank, to deploy the industry’s newest teller transaction printer.

“Many financial institutions are embracing the potential for improved customer service through teller image automation and clutter-free teller stations that are conducive to one-on-one interaction between staff and customers,” said Paul Rupple, director of Marketing for Digital Check. “Development of the Teller Scan TS240/TTP is Digital Check’s response to the financial industry’s need for teller hardware that provides such functionality.”

“Benchmark Technology Group’s expertise is often enlisted by forward-thinking financial institutions, such as Associated Bank, to deploy hardware and software that improve efficiency and customer service,” said Rod Higbee, vice president of Sales for Benchmark Technology Group. “Digital Check’s newly developed TS240/TTP is compact, conserving space at teller lines and providing the caliber of imaged customer receipts typically associated with intelligent deposit ATMs at large banks.”

Teller Scan® TS240/TTP, which will be showcased at BAI Retail Delivery 2010, incorporates check scanning and thermal transaction printing into one device, which occupies 50 percent less counter space than separately arranged teller scanners and receipt printers. A value-added reseller of Digital Check hardware and technology, Benchmark Technology Group will provide the TS240/TTP to Associated Bank, enabling the financial institution to provide customers with thermally printed receipts that contain images of their check deposits along with marketing and promotional messages from the bank.
